WATER AND AIR

Modern domestic, industrial and agricultural developments and practices have significantly improved quality of life globally, but also led to pollution and created demand for water that makes access to clean water and air for the world's growing population a real global challenge. Chemistry plays an indispensable role in fostering new solutions for the management of a healthy and safe water supply and in understanding and controlling the effects of pollution on human health and the impact on the environment.

The scope of the Water and Air theme at the World Chemical Summit is the ways in which the chemical industry can provide solutions and should develop to help to:

Improve sanitation services and water recycling and re-use

Provide global access to drinking water through improved quality and better distribution

Prevent and reduce pollution
